Philippe Marquis wins freestyle World Cup race in Finland

Canada's Philippe Marquis won a gold medal on the men's side and Chloe Dufour-Lapointe won a silver medal on the women's side in the dual moguls event at the freestyle skiing World Cup race Saturday in Ruka, Finland.

Marquis finished ahead of Sho Endo of Japan and Anthony Benna of France.   

Kazakhstan's Yulia Galysheva won the gold in the women's race and Hannah Kearney of the U.S. won the bronze.

​Seven Canadian women competed among the field of 34 with four finishing in the top six. Dufour-Lapointe's sisters Justine and Maxime finished fifth and ninth respectively. Canada's Audrey Robichaud placed fourth, Andi Naude placed sixth and Christel Hamel placed 11th.

There were seven Canadians competing in the men's field of 54 with Marc-Antoine Gagnon getting the next best finish for Canada, coming in 6th.

Other Canadian men's results include:

- Mikael Kingsbury finished ninth

- Pascal-Olivier Gagne finished 10th

- Simon Pouliot-Cavanagh finished 11th
