Police seek info on Guled Yusuf, accused in High Park stabbing

Toronto police are trying to learn more about the man charged in a stabbing at a High Park apartment building.

Last Tuesday evening, police were called to 100 High Park Ave., where they found a man suffering from multiple stab wounds.

The victim was taken to hospital where he was later pronounced dead. He has since been identified as Musa Yusuf, a 52-year-old man from Toronto.

His 22-year-old nephew, Guled Yusuf, was arrested a few kilometres from the scene and later charged with second-degree murder.

On Sunday, police told reporters they would canvas the area, in part to assure residents the homicide was an isolated incident, and in part to learn more about the accused.

Toronto police Det. Deb Harris said officers want to speak with anyone who knew or worked with the accused, as well as anyone who could help establish his whereabouts for the months leading up to his arrest.

Anyone with information is asked to contact homicide investigators at 416-808-7400, or to call 11 Division at 416-808-1100.

Information can also be passed on anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 416-222-8477.
