Art can be a truly unique gift to give during the holidays, but it's also a tricky business, thanks to differing styles and decor. Individuality is what makes art so special, after all.
But this season, there's an option that we think provides plenty of ideas for pictures that are hard to resist, and they come right from Canadian photographers.
Flickr has recently opened up some of its Creative Commons and licensed artists' photographs to be purchased — and mounted — via its site in a rather seamless matter. If you have a Flickr account, you can visit their "Curated Collection" site, and browse around until you inevitably find a picture you want for your very own. Or, given that it's the holiday season, be selfless about it and buy a gift for a loved one.
From there, it's just a matter of clicking the wall art icon on the picture and choosing how much (or little) of the image you want, the mounting method (photo mount or canvas wrap) and the size you'd like to order it in. (Plus, right now they are offering 40 per cent off all purchases, which includes shipping, with the code GIFTS14.)
Take a look at some of these options from Canadian photographers, and see if you don't fall just a bit more in love with our country:
