Bus strikes woman near Yonge and Eglinton

A woman has been struck by a bus near the busy intersection of Yonge Street and Eglinton Avenue East.

Toronto police say the incident occurred between Yonge Street and Redpath Avenue, shortly after 3 p.m.

Paramedics say the pedestrian, believed to be in her 40s, was taken to a trauma centre.

Details were not immediately available on her condition, though paramedics say she was conscious and breathing when transported.

Traffic services officers have been called to the scene.

Police say drivers should expect delays.
