Many countries have a history of food customs that have been followed for centuries and have become so ingrained the culture that they are considered second nature.

In England, the tradition of a Sunday roast stems back medieval times when serfs were rewarded for a weeks worth of service with a feast of ox and ale. Though the tradition remains in some homes the custom is not as strong as it once was.
