According to a news release, the party was held at a downtown Barrie establishment on Tuesday.
Police say a man and woman hid inside a bar area and started drinking shooters, before taking "five to seven" bottles and heading to a patio area. They also took selfies, police say.
After going to the patio, police say they were spotted and confronted by staff. The two fled with the alcohol.
Hours later, staff saw tweets from a man and woman who were bragging about their exploits.
The tweets included images of the people allegedly drinking the stolen alcohol in the bar area.
Police were contacted. A male suspect has been arrested and charged with theft.
The female suspect is out of town, but police say she will be arrested when she returns to Barrie next week.
The news release says police have "provided a gift" to the accused — a January court date.
The charges have not been proven in court.
