It's been a great year for hair, if we do say so ourselves.

From awards season to now, we've seen our favourite celebs step out in some pretty gorgeous ensembles. And nothing complements an outfit quite like a great hairdo, don't you think?

From Amal Clooney's flawless wedding hair to Jared Leto's man bun and even Lena Dunham's platinum bowl cut, this year sure was full of great hair moments. So, take a trip down memory lane with us and check out our picks for the year's 20 best hair moments. Perhaps you'll find some inspiration for the new year!

Amal Clooney's Wedding Hair

What can we say other than Amal's wedding 'do was absolute perfection. It was simple, elegant, and chic. And that hat! We can't.
Kate Middleton's Perfect Blowout

Kate Middleton wins the title for the best blowout, hands down. Her luscious locks always look gorgeous, and this instance, during her trip to NYC, was no exception.
FKA Twigs' Slick Curls And Braids

Resident cool-girl (and girlfriend of Robert Pattinson) burst onto the scene this year with her unique sound, eclectic style, and awesome hair. We absolutely love her braided buns and slick curls (a little Josephine Baker inspiration, perhaps?), and hope to see more of them in 2015.
Natalie Dormer's Undercut

The actress shaved half of her head for her role as Cressida in "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Pt. 1," and proved that the style can definitely be worthy of red carpet appearances. Not only does the 'do look amazing on her (seriously, it's awesome), it adds just the right amount of edge to her overall look.
Kylie Jenner's Turquoise Lob
Instagram
Kylie Jenner's hair has gone through transformation after transformation, but one of our favourite styles has to be her turquoise dip-dyed lob. It perfectly matches her edgy style, and we can bet it inspired 15-year-olds everywhere to try out rainbow hair hues for themselves (we know we wanted to!).
Cara Delevingne's Brunette Braid

Cara Delevingne debuted darker locks this year with this perfectly messy braid. It's effortlessly cool (like her) and the new hue makes her eyes pop even more.
Amy Adams' Braided Updo

Amy Adams was everywhere during this year's award season, and she pretty much nailed every look. Not only did she wear some gorgeous gowns, she also showed off some beautiful hairstyles, like this braided updo from the Golden Globe Awards. Paired with that gorgeous two-tone gown and glowing makeup, the 'do looked so pretty.
Nicole Richie's Purple Hair
Instagram
Rainbow hair colour was one of the biggest trends of the year, hands down. And while stars like Katy Perry and Lady Gaga already adopted and then abandoned the trend multiple times, it was Nicole Richie's purple hue that made one of the biggest impacts.
Lupita Nyong'o's Regal Headband

Lupita Nyong'o proved that short hair doesn't need to be boring! Her Oscars 'do, with the small bouffant and sparkly headband, was the perfect complement to her amazing Prada gown.
Emma Watson's Oscars Hair

Oh, Emma Watson! This girl can do no wrong, especially when it comes to style. Her half-up hairstyle at the Oscars, complete with those little star pins, was absolutely perfect.
Jared Leto's Glorious Ombré

Jared Leto's hair was hands down one of the biggest topics of awards season. His perfectly ombréd locks became the envy of both men and women, and his hairstylists (read: "Ombre Gods") even opened up their own salon!
And Jared Leto's Man Bun

And of course this list wouldn't be complete without the inclusion of the actor's man bun. Instead of letting his locks loose for the Golden Globes, Leto opted for a more polished look, and pulled his hair off his face. The bun, accentuated by his bushy facial hair, sent people into a frenzy -- his hair even has its own fan club. .
Lauren Conrad's Textured Lob
Instagram
Lauren Conrad shocked us all this year when she got her "first haircut in years" and shed her long beachy waves, in favour of a textured lob (the hairstyle of the moment). Then she went even shorter! The cut definitely took the former "The Hills" star's hair to a cool new level.
Blake Lively's Messy Braid

The former "Gossip Girl" star had a number of gorgeous hairstyles at Cannes this year, including this mesmerizing messy braid. Paired with those statement earrings and that beautiful burgundy gown this look was perfect. Her elegant, oversized bun was a close runner-up.
Olivia Munn's Wings Clip

We've got a total girl crush on Olivia Munn, and we love her style. The marigold gown she wore to this year's Met Gala was definitely one of her best looks, but it was her elegant hairstyle that really stole the show. Her raven locks looked gorgeous, styled in vintage glamour waves, and accented with that lovely wings clip. So pretty!
Beyonce's "Wet Look" Grammys Bob

Beyonce may be the only person who can pull off the wet look without looking weird -- she is the queen, after all. Her Grammy's 'do got so many people talking and became the subject of multiple "how-tos" online.
Elle Fanning's Brunette Locks

Ethereal teen star Elle Fanning traded in her platinum blond locks for a warmer brunette shade, and we have to say, we quite like the new look. It warms up her skin and looks great against her perfectly rosy cheeks.
Kristen Stewart's Choppy Pixie

Leave it to Kristen Stewart to out-cool us all with a choppy long pixie cut. It's perfectly edgy and goes great with KStew's style.
Kate Hudson's Perfect Pony

Kate Hudson has mastered the art of the ponytail with this gorgeous 'do. Seriously, it's perfect, and that's all we need to say about it.
Lena Dunham's Blond Bowl Cut
Instagram
Lena Dunham shocked the Internet when she debuted a platinum bowl cut via Instagram, with the simple caption, "change is good." The look caught us off guard at first (we won't lie) but we've come to love her lighter locks. We can do without the green, though.
