Patrik Elias be-devils Lightning

Patrik Elias of the New Jersey Devils is closing in on 400 goals in the National Hockey League but it's doubtful if he's had many games with the pair of mesmerizing scores like he had Friday in the Devils win over Tampa Bay.

With the Devils leading 1-0 on an Adam Henrique first period goal, Elias scored his 4th of the season and career goal number 397 with the old spin-a-rama move followed by a backhand shot that eluded Evgeni Nabokov in the Lightning goal.

That goal looked like it might hold up as the game-winner until the Lightning answered back, first on a goal by Steven Stamkos and then, in the last minute of the third period, on the equalizer by Nikita Kucherov.

After a scoreless overtime, four shooters were stopped before Elias skated in on Nabokov. No spins, but another backhander after a few dekes and the puck was in the net again.

When Keith Kinkaid stopped the final Tampa Bay attempt by Jonathan Drouin he had his first NHL win in goal and Elias had a brilliant night to add to his resume.
