Hiker found after almost a week in Golden Ears Provincial Park

A hiker who was stranded for almost a week in an emergency shelter in Golden Ears Provincial Park, B.C. has been located by the Ridge Meadows Search and Rescue team.

A crew of six found the missing hiker on Sunday afternoon after a launching a search in the park, north of Maple Ridge, earlier in the day.

But high winds and low clouds prevented a helicopter from airlifting the rescuers and hiker out of the park, so they spent another chilly night in the Panorama Ridge emergency shelter in the park.

The team is hoping for good weather on Monday so they can fly everyone out.
