Lachine shooting leaves 24-year-old man dead

Montreal police are investigating after a 24-year-old man was fatally shot overnight in Lachine.

Police received several calls around 10:20 p.m. ET on Monday from people reporting gunshots near the corner of Duff Court Street and Roy Avenue.

"When police officers arrived on-site, they found a man who was shot at least once to his upper body while he was inside a vehicle," said Const. Jean-Pierre Brabant of the Montreal police.

The man was transported to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police said the victim was known to police.

Investigators are still searching for suspects.
