Elderly man taken to trauma centre after crashing into Etobicoke house

A driver in his 70s was taken to a local trauma centre after crashing his car into a house in Etobicoke Thursday afternoon.

He is in stable condition, according to Toronto EMS.

The driver lost control of his vehicle when it sped through the parking lot of the adjacent Blue Goose Tavern, through a fence and was subsequently stopped by the outer wall of the garage of the house.

EMS said the vehicle was flipped on its side and the driver was trapped for about half an hour.

Power was knocked out to the house, which is located near Royal York Road and the Gardiner Expressway, but homeowners said there was no other damage.
