RCMP say the standoff began around 1:15 a.m. at a residence within the town, about 180 kilometres northwest of Edmonton.
Mounties determined that a 41-year-old man at the location had been in a conflict with a relative not at the home.
They also learned there were three other adults and one child inside.
Officers entered the building and arrested the man without incident when one of the occupants came out shortly after 8:00 a.m. and told police he was sleeping.
No one was hurt and police say charges are pending.
