Fundraising for Delta family who lost home in Christmas tree fire

Donations are pouring in for a Delta, B.C. family who lost their home in a Christmas tree fire on Dec. 30.

A fundraising page was created on on Thursday for the Robinson family and by Jan. 2 at 3:15 PT, approximately $3,275 had been raised.

According the fundraising page, Brent and Jamie Robinson had lived in their home for 29 years. Jamie is a teacher at Hawthorne Elementary School and Brent is a driver for Coast Mountain Bus.

Firefighters spent most of Tuesday night battling the stubborn blaze and at one point flames were coming through the top floor.

The Robinson family, who were inside at the time, say it took just seconds for the fire to leap to their living room from their Christmas tree.
