NHL players inspired by sledge hockey talents

Just as Canada's and Russia's junior players inspired a worldwide audience and generations of rising stars to come with their passionate play in the gold medal game Monday night, won by Canada, 5-4, so, too, are several established players in the National Hockey League, truly inspired by the top sledge hockey players.

NHLers like Sidney Crosby, Claude Giroux and Scott Hartnell took to the ice for some sledge hockey scrimmaging and discovered just how difficult the game can be from their new vantage point close to the ice surface.

The way the sledge hockey players are able to maneuver, move the puck and shoot drew raves from the pros, but members of the Cruisers Sports All Blacks sledge hockey team take it all in stride.

Their motto is Win from Within and as they say, 'Hockey is hockey.'
