Barry Trotz cut after high stick from Capitals player

Ouch! That must have stung a little bit.

Washington Capitals coach Barry Trotz required medical attention after being hit in the head with a stick during the first period versus the Philadelphia Flyers on Thursday.

The incident occurred when Capitals centre Marcus Johansson was checked into the boards and his stick accidentally swung over the head of a referee, who managed to avoid it and clipped the forehead of his bench boss.

Trotz seemed to shrug it off and was able to continue his coaching duties after he was attended to by a trainer.
