Terry Litt, Hockey Dad, Given Conditional Discharge For Threatening Child

A Burnaby, B.C. hockey dad has been given a 12-month conditional discharge for allegedly threatening a player on his son's hockey team.

Terry Litt, 57, pleaded guilty to uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm to the player, who was nine years old at the time, after he lost his temper in the team change room last February.

Litt must also avoid contact with the player's family and seek counselling, if directed to by probation officer.

The boy, now 10, and his father, Ronnie Bhala, were in court for Litt's appearance.

Bhala remains upset with the Burnaby Winter Club, saying the coaches in the change room who witnessed the incident didn't protect his son.

The incident happened at Karen Magnussen Arena on Feb. 21.

The Burnaby Winter Club's Atom 3 team had just lost a playoff game to a team from North Vancouver.
