Vincent Crisanti abruptly resigns from 2 boards

Coun. Vincent Crisanti resigned from a pair of city boards last month, less than two weeks after he was named to them.

Crisanti sent a letter to the city clerk on Dec. 15 advising that he was immediately resigning from the board of directors of both the Canadian National Exhibition Association and Toronto Hydro Corporation.

He did not give a reason for his resignation in the letter, though he thanked Mayor John Tory and his fellow council members for supporting his appointment to those boards earlier in the month.

The striking committee must now make recommendations to council on replacements for the board positions that Crisanti vacated.

Crisanti was among the three dozen councillors who were re-elected in October. Coun. Rob Ford also returned to council, after dropping out of the mayoral race and putting his name on the ballot in Ward 2.
