Saskatoon man arrested for taking WestJet megaphone

A 29-year-old Saskatoon man was in court this morning after a disruption on a Toronto-to-Saskatoon flight Monday night.

Police arrested the man after the WestJet flight landed at 9 p.m. CST. Witnesses on the flight told CBC that the man ripped the megaphone off the wall of the galley.

The Crown said that "alcohol loomed large" in the incident.

Officers boarded the plane and arrested the man. He's facing a charge of theft under $5,000 and mischief over $5,000 for interference of the flight.

The man was released from custody. He will be back in court on January 29.
