ST. JOHN'S, N.L. - The Newfoundland and Labrador NDP will choose a new leader March 7.
The party says a leadership convention will be held at the Sheraton Hotel in St. John's.
Party president Kathleen Connors says potential candidates have until Feb. 6 to enter the race.
Former union leader Earle McCurdy became the first to declare his candidacy on Tuesday.
McCurdy says he expects to be challenged for the top job.
Lorraine Michael announced last week that she would step down as NDP leader after the convention.
