Charlie Hebdo: Montrealers line up for post-attack edition

Montreal newsstands were flooded with people waiting to get their copy of the new Charlie Hebdo Friday morning.

The latest edition of the satirical Paris weekly targeted in last week’s attacks is in high demand.

Five million copies of the edition were printed, compared with the usual 60,000. It will be translated in 16 languages and distributed across the globe.

But it may still prove difficult to get a copy in Montreal.

One store owner told CBC he had a waiting list of more than 200 names for the 40 copies he expected to receive.

The cover depicts a caricature of the Prophet Muhammad weeping and holding a sign reading "I am Charlie" with the words "All is forgiven" above him.
