Justin Kripps, Bryan Barnett, Canadian bobsledders, win bronze in two-man

Canada’s Justin Kripps and Bryan Barnett was a bronze medal in the men’s two-man bobsleigh event Saturday in Koenigssee, Germany.

Kripps, from Summerland, B.C., and Barnett, of Edmonton, took third in a two-run time of one minute, 42.19 seconds.

Switzerland's Beat Hefti and Alex Baumann claimed their second bobsled World Cup victory of the season, with the pair now taking the overall lead in the standings.

The Olympic silver medalists were fastest in both runs (1:41.16), and beat Germany's Nico Walther and Marko Huebenbecker (1:41.68) by 0.52 seconds for their second successive win.

Hefti and Baumann have 842 points, ahead of previous leaders Melbardis and Dreiskens on 829.

Kripps and Barnett are in sixth with 672.
