We're smack in the middle of engagement season—USA Today reports that December is the biggest month for proposals—and this means all those newly betrothed couples will have to figure out how and where they'll tie the knot.
Increasingly, the answer is somewhere other than their hometowns. Destination weddings are only becoming more popular: a 2012 survey from TheKnot.com and WeddingChannel.com found that destination weddings made up nearly a quarter of all weddings, at 24 per cent, up from 20 per cent in 2009.
