A Hockey Team Did The Haka And Amazed Us All

You might recognize the "haka" from the dance that the All Blacks, New Zealand's rugby team, performs before matches.

But what if you transferred it to the ice?

A hockey team from New Zealand did just that on Tuesday as it prepared to face off against South Africa in the IIHF Under-20 World Championship (Division III).

The haka is a Maori war dance that was performed on the battlefield, but also took place when parties met peacefully, according to Tourism New Zealand.

It was later adopted by the All Blacks, and is an impressive spectacle at matches.

It must have sown fear in the hearts of the South African hockey team; New Zealand went on to win 5-1.
