Tatiana Maslany In 'Star Wars' Spinoff? 'Orphan Black' Actor Allegedly A Contender For Lead Role

Tatiana Maslany In 'Star Wars' Spinoff?
Space

This would certainly be a Clone war ... of some kind.

Canadian "Orphan Black" star Tatiana Maslany is reportedly being considered for a lead role in Gareth Edwards' clandestine "Star Wars" spinoff.

Maslany is said to be on a short list for the unidentified role, says The Hollywood Reporter. Also on the supposed list are Rooney Mara ("Girl With The Dragon Tattoo") and Felicity Jones ("The Theory Of Everything").

Maslany is no stranger to the big screen, though she has only had roles in indie and under-the-radar films, like "Cas & Dylan," "Picture Day" and "Grown Up Movie Star," for which she won the Special Jury Prize at Sundance.

The film is due in theatres on Dec. 16, 2016, so we have a long time to wait. Until then, we can bask in this speculation.
