Fees add up fast in city's proposed budget

Between the higher water rates, garbage fees and property taxes — what will John Tory's proposed budget do to your bottom line? 

For the average Toronto home — with an assessed value of $525,000 — the higher property tax alone will cost about $83 more a year. Add in garbage and water and it's nearly $250. 

"It's hard to make ends meet, or just get ahead," says west-end homeowner and mom Zoe Traiforos.
