White Rock attempted child abduction suspect sketch released

Police have released a composite sketch of a man they say attempted to abduct a nine-year-old girl at her school playground in White Rock, B.C.

According to police, the young girl was in the playground of White Rock Elementary School when she was approached by a stranger who tried to lure her into his vehicle on Jan. 16 at around 3:30 p.m.

The school says in a letter sent home to parents that the young girl was offered treats in his car, but she said no. 

When parents noticed him, the suspect fled on foot. The child was not injured.

The suspect is described as:

- Caucasian male.

- Approximately 20 to 30 years old.

- Average build.

- Tattoos on both arms.

- Wearing a dark coloured T-shirt with red writing and beige shorts.

- Approximately 5’9 to 6’2. 

- Nose and ear piercings 

- Blue eyes.

- Oval-shaped head and face with a pointed nose.
