Suspect drives stolen SUV through Galeries Joliette mall

SûretéduQuébec investigators are looking for a suspect after someone drove a stolen SUV through a Joliette, Que., mall.

Sgt. Audrey-Anne Bilodeau of the SQ said the suspect crashed the vehicle through the glass of a mall entrance, drove through the shopping centre and then exited by crashing through a second set of doors.

The suspect then got out of the SUV and fled on foot.

The incident happened around 5:45 a.m. Saturday in what is normally a busy shopping district of Joliette, on Firestone Boulevard.

Investigators with the provincial police are examining two crime scenes.

The mall will open as scheduled on Saturday.
