A 16-year-old boy is facing dangerous driving charges after he lost control of an SUV and hit a house in Markham.
Police say the crash, which occurred at Highglen and Golden Avenues, happened shortly after 2 a.m. Saturday.
After swerving off the road, the vehicle slammed into a hydro box and started a small fire.
The teenager is said to be OK — but the crash knocked out power to several hundred homes in the area.
Investigators say the teen appeared to have been drinking, but not enough to warrant an impaired driving charge. Police say they continue to investigate.
