EDMONTON - Another cabinet minister in former Alberta premier Alison Redford's government is quitting politics.
Progressive Conservative Cal Dallas, who represents Red Deer-South, has announced on Facebook he won't run in the next election.
In the posting, Dallas says it has been an honour to serve in government, but strong democracy requires renewal.
The two-term MLA served as intergovernmental affairs minister under Redford, but is now a backbencher.
Alana DeLong, a four-term legislature member for Calgary Bow, has also announced she won't run again.
There are now at least a dozen Tory MLAs who are not seeking re-election in the next vote, which is expected as early as this spring.
Other Redford cabinet ministers — including Dave Hancock, Doug Griffiths, Fred Horne and Doug Horner — have also announced they won't run or have already left politics.
