Serial bank robber suspect arrested in Grande Prairie, Alta.

The suspect in a series of bank robberies stretching from B.C. through Alberta to Saskatchewan was arrested in Grande Prairie, Alta., on Friday.

RCMP say the 26-year-old man was arrested around 2:30 p.m. MT at a motel near 109th Street and 100 Avenue. His identity, as well as the charges he will face, will be released on Monday, police said.

Earlier this week, RCMP said they believed one suspect was responsible for nine bank holdups.

All the robberies involved a weapon either being produced or mentioned, but nobody was injured in any of the incidents. In each case, the suspect has made off with some cash.
