A Toronto woman is facing two charges after a pedestrian was struck and critically injured in Scarborough on Wednesday.

Toronto police say a man was struck by a vehicle shortly before 3 p.m. at Midland Avenue near Silver Star Drive in the Midland and Finch avenues area.

Police say a 38-year-old driver, travelling westbound on South Shields Drive, attempted to make a left turn to southbound Midland Avenue.

A 43-year-old pedestrian was attempting to cross Midland Avenue from the west side to the east side, south of the intersection, when he was struck by the vehicle making a left turn.
