One dead, one wounded in double shooting; police looking for gunman

A man in his 30s is dead after a double shooting in Alexandra Park, Toronto Police say. Police are looking for a man who they say shot two men early Saturday morning, around 4 a.m.

One man died at the scene and the other was taken to hospital, where he is expected to recover.

Three men were sitting on a park bench when someone approached them, talked to them and then opened fire. A man in his 30s was shot in the head and pronounced dead at the scene. A second victim was also hit by a bullet in the torso.

Police blocked off a large section around Bathurst and Dundas for about two hours as tactical officers and K-9 units searched for a suspect. Investigators say at this point they are still looking for the suspect.

Police are characterizing this shooting as a targeted attack.
