Andrew Wiggins scores career-high in battle with LeBron James

Andrew Wiggins may not have got the ultimate revenge against the team that traded him, but it was pretty close.

The Canadian forward poured in a career-high 33 points for the Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday night in a matchup with LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Although the Timberwolves dropped a 106-90 decision to the visiting Cavaliers, Wiggins' individual performance didn't go unnoticed and couldn't have come at a better time.

In fact there may have been some added motivation.

The 19-year-old rookie was drafted first overall by the Cavaliers, but was sent to the Timberwolves in a blockbuster deal for Kevin Love before the season started.

Wiggins, who was born in the Toronto area, went 14-for-25 from the field and drained a trio of three-pointers in 43 minutes of action.

James prevailed in the battle with Wiggins and recorded a game-high 36 points.

However, the outcome did not dampen the excitement over Wiggins' performance.

Wiggins and James have now met twice this season, posting remarkably even results.
