Ontario Provincial Police say that a male driver went to a Petro Canada in Peterborough, on Saturday, where he fuelled up the BMW he was driving.
It is alleged that the male tried to pay for the fuel with his credit card. However, police say the card was declined and the male drove away.
The driver was subsequently pulled over by police in Peterborough over alleged traffic complaints about the same vehicle.
A 19-year-old Toronto male faces a charge of theft. He is due to appear in a Peterborough court next month.
The charge and the allegations from police have not been proven in court.
