Zack Sandor-Kerr builds his own curling rink in The Junction

Call it DIY-style curling.

Zack Sandor-Kerr has rigged up a curling rink in the backyard of his home in The Junction.

He admits he's still learning the game that he can now play by walking out his back door.

"I hadn't ever thrown a stone until building the rink and now I'm really into it," Sandor-Kerr said Tuesday, when speaking to CBC News about his homemade rink.

The stones he is throwing are made out of cooking bowls, which have been filled up with cement and fitted with PVC pipe for handles.

"A set of stones is really pricey and for the backyard experience, we thought this would work," he said.
