Frankie MacDonald, Nova Scotia's Best Amateur Weatherman, Honoured In House Of Commons

One Of Canada's Greatest Weathermen Lauded In House Of Commons

If you follow the weather in Canada, then you've likely heard of Frankie MacDonald.

The passionate weatherman from Whitney Pier, Nova Scotia has racked up millions of views on YouTube for his helpful reports, warning people in places as varied as Vancouver, Indiana, and Australia to prepare for sun, rain or snow.

MacDonald made international news last month when BuzzFeed called on a TV network to give him a job.

(He's even inspired clothing).

MacDonald may not have that gig yet, but on Wednesday he was honoured in the House of Commons by Mark Eyking, Liberal MP for Nova Scotia's Sydney-Victoria riding.

"We, as Cape Bretoners, are very proud of Frankie the weatherman and wish him all the best as he continues to keep us safe from Mother Nature," he said in a speech before question period that drew applause.

"Canadians are deep in winter. As Frankie says, stay safe, stay warm, and good luck."

Well done, Frankie.
