Residential fire breaks out in Ville-Émard duplex

Twenty-five firefighters are currently on the scene of a fire that broke out inside the basement of a duplex in the Southwest borough early Thursday morning.

Firefighters got the call around 7:20 a.m. and rushed to the scene at 6868 Jogues Street, near Allard Street.

The fire is not yet under control.

According to the fire department, there are no injuries. It is not yet clear how many people were forced out of the building and if they will be able to return once the fire has been put out.
