Harlem Globetrotters' mascot Big G stolen from team bus in Vancouver

The Harlem Globetrotters are "deflated" after their mascot, Big G, was stolen from their tour bus parked at Hastings and Seymour streets on Monday night, according to Vancouver police.

The 10-foot tall inflatable mascot was "safely tucked in his case in the luggage compartment of the team's tour bus" as of Monday afternoon, said the VPD in a statement.

By Tuesday morning, Big G was gone, along with his battery pack and the team's sound mixer, according to the release.

Vancouver police are looking for the mascot, but emphasize the team will play on.

"Somewhat deflated without Big G, the Globetrotters will continue to amaze basketball fans with their athleticism, theatre and comedy," said the release.

Anyone who knows where Big G has gone is asked to call Vancouver police at 604-717-3321.
