Water main breaks cause problems for drivers, flood homes

At least four water main breaks across the city caused problems for drivers and homeowners Wednesday morning.

The TTC 52 Lawrence West was forced to divert around one breakage on The Westway, near Kipling Avenue.

The other incidents occurred on Old Orchard Grove, just south of Hwy. 401, on Eddystone Avenue near the intersection of Jane Street and Finch Avenue and on Bathurst Street.

The bursts were likely caused by relatively warmer temperatures currently moving over the city.

Media reports said that several houses on Old Orchard Grove were flooded.
