Dmitry Kulikov faces discipline for clipping Tyler Seguin

The NHL Department of Player Safety has offered an in-person hearing to defenceman Dmitry Kulikov of the Florida Panthers for clipping Dallas Stars centre Tyler Seguin on Friday.

Kulikov was assessed a five-minute major for clipping and also received a game misconduct in the second period.

The offering of an in-person hearing is a technicality that allows for a suspension in excess of five games.

On Saturday morning, the Stars placed Seguin on injured reserve, meaning that he will miss at least a week of action.

Two other Dallas players left Friday's contest against the Panthers due to injury, including right-winger Patrick Eaves who was also placed on injured reserve.
