The water supply has been restored in Port Hope, Ont.
The municipality had earlier declared a state of emergency for its urban area due to a frozen pipe at its water treatment plant.
Mayor Bob Sanderson made the announcement at around 10 a.m. Monday, according to a press release. There was no risk to the public and water quality hadn't yet been affected.

As of 7 a.m., the municipality's reserve tank had enough water for about 10 hours of typical use, so residents were asked to reduce their consumption to a minimum while staff resolve the issue. Ward 1, the area affected by the pipe, has an approximate population of 15,300.
