Yves Bolduc appoints lawyer to head strip-search investigation

Quebec Education Minister Yves Bolduc has named a lawyer to lead an independent investigation into an incident where a Quebec City high school student was strip-searched.

Fabienne Bouchard is a former Crown prosecutor who handled many youth court cases.

The incident made international headlines when a 15-year-old female student was asked to remove all her clothes by a female principal who suspected her of selling drugs.

The school board defended the search saying it was done according to guidelines established by the ministry of education.

Bolduc said he wants all the facts about what happened before he decided whether any changes should be made to the policy.
