We admit that we were pretty disappointed that Emma Watson didn't attend the 2015 Oscars on Sunday (because remember what she wore last year? Swoon!), but her sweet note to Steve Carell—who did attend—almost made up for it.

The "Beauty and the Beast" actress watched the ceremony (or checked out the red carpet pics) and after seeing what the former "The Office" star was wearing, sent him a note about the "He For She" cufflinks he wore.

Lucky for us, Emma posted the note on Twitter:

The letter says:

Dear Steve Carell,

You were pure genius in Little Miss Sunshine (one of my all time favourite films), my brother became obsessed with you after Anchorman, I wanted to marry you or have you adopt me after Crazy, Stupid, Love, I hated that guy you played in The Way Way Back, and then you were mind-blowing in Foxcatcher. I think you're so awesome and today you are wearing #HeForShe Monique Péan cufflinks at the Oscars to support Gender Equality. Couldn't be more proud! THANK YOU.

Love,

Emma x

The 24-year-old, who rose to fame playing Hermione Granger in the "Harry Potter" films (and is absolutely not dating Prince Harry), is a passionate activist (check out her amazing UN speech) and a supporter of He For She, a gender equality movement.

Here is Steve and his wife Nancy being adorable at the Oscars:

Emma's got mad style, too:
