President's Choice Blue Menu bran flakes recalled over plastic contamination

Loblaws is recalling President's Choice Blue Menu brand Bran Flakes cereal because of "possible plastic contamination."

The product was sold in grocery stores across Canada.

Customers who purchased the 775-gram box of the cereal with best-before dates from Aug. 26, 2015, up to and including Jan. 7, 2016, are asked to throw out the cereal or return it to the store where they purchased it.

The recall is voluntary, and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency is ensuring that all of the affected product is removed from store shelves.

No injuries have been reported by Loblaw Cos. Ltd.
