Suspects in string of 47 Laval robberies nabbed by police

Laval police have arrested two young men in connection with a series of robberies in the Montreal area.

The men, aged 20 and 21, were apprehended in the Pont-Viau district of Laval Wednesday morning.

Police said the two are suspected of robbing nearly $500,000 worth of computer equipment from schools, as well as about $50,000 worth of alcohol from the SAQ.

Police said there were 47 break-and-enters in Laval, and that they suspect the men were responsible for other robberies in Montreal and on the South Shore.

The two suspects are to appear in court in Laval today to face breaking-and-entering charges.

A third, 20-year-old suspect is still being sought by police.
