Little boy learns about 911, uses it to help mother days later

Barrie police say they'll be recommending a little boy for an award after he got help for his mother when she suffered multiple seizures this weekend.

Police say a five-year-old boy called 911 on Saturday night, which allowed paramedics to come to his mother's aid and transport her to hospital.

The boy had learned about the use of 911 in school a few days earlier. Police say they intend to put his name forward for a civilian citation.
