Bidding to end today on Rob Ford's infamous necktie

The bidding will soon end for the tie that Rob Ford wore on the day he first admitted to smoking crack cocaine.

The city's former mayor and current Ward 2 councillor has been selling off some of his belongings on eBay.

His crack-confession necktie went up for sale on the auction website a week ago. The bidding on the item was scheduled to close just after 5 p.m. ET on Wednesday.

As of the mid-afternoon on Wednesday, the top bid for the tie was listed at just over $16,000.

Ford is also selling a coat he wore as a football coach, several sports jerseys and a familiar-looking sweatshirt. But the bidding for these items has not been close to bids placed on the tie.
