Shawinigan, Que. man arrested for making bomb threats

A 44-year-old man from Shawinigan, Que. has been arrested for making about 20 bomb threats between March 4 to 8, Quebec provincial police say.

Investigators say the bomb threats, which were made in Drummondville, La Tuque, Trois-Rivières, Quebec City and Montreal, turned out to be hoaxes.

The man will appear at the Shawinigan, Que. court house at a later date to face public mischief charges.

The investigation is ongoing.

In a statement, Quebec provincial police said that making threats is a criminal act and will be taken seriously.
