Gatineau Olympiques players investigated for alleged sex assault in Quebec City

QUEBEC - The Gatineau Olympiques hockey club finds itself embroiled in a second police investigation amid reports a complaint has been filed against some of its players for an alleged sexual assault.

Le Soleil is reporting that a woman filed a complaint alleging a sexual assault involving four Olympiques players in a Quebec City hotel room in January 2014.

The report says the alleged victim recently filed a complaint with Trois-Rivieres police, who transferred the case to Quebec City authorities.

Some of the players are reportedly still with the team.

Nobody has been charged in the case and the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League says it is co-operating with police.

In February, a report in Ottawa Le Droit suggested as many as a half-dozen Olympiques players were involved in an indecent act with a woman in a Boston Pizza bathroom in Gatineau.

In that case, police received a complaint about indecent acts from a third party and opened an investigation.

The team and the league issued a statement saying they were taking the matter seriously and would conduct an internal investigation.
