From the outside, it looks a little like the Palace of Versailles.
On the inside, it's a bit of a fixer-upper.
But it's supposed to look that way. Because this luxurious, 27,000-square-foot mansion is set to go on the auction block on April 16, and the party that puts up the (significant) money to buy it ought to have a chance to make it their own.
Currently listed at $13,980,000, the property at 40 Park Lane Circle in Toronto's Bridle Path neighbourhood is on a 2.4-acre ravine lot, according to its Concierge Auctions listing.

Versailles-Inspired Mansion in Toronto
In designing the home's exterior, architect Jacques Dinel took inspiration from Versailles itself, aiming to outfit it in a manner that creates a strong impression when people arrive, The National Post reported.
The porch boasts rosette coffers and Corinthian pillars, which flaunt a front door that opens into a foyer with a curved staircase and a mezzanine.
The home has eight bedrooms including suites for nannies and inlaws, and every single one has fireplaces and walk-in closets, the Post said.
There's also a grand ballroom, library, home theatre room and indoor and outdoor pools (the latter is Olympic-sized).
But this isn't the first time the house has gone to market, nor the first it's been put up for auction.
Toronto Life said it was previously listed for $23 million, and it went on the block for $14 million in 2013, reported The National Post.
Anyone with the money to spare can check out the home from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. every day leading up to the auction.
